Baloch for boycott of Indian products
LAHORE : Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has warned that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is bent upon spreading the flames of war in the region only to win elections for his party.
In a statement on Wednesday, Baloch appealed to the world community to take stock of the situation and check the designs of Indian government to fan war hysteria against Pakistan ahead of the elections in India.
He warned the Indian leadership and media that Pakistani nation was united and was standing with their armed forces to give a befitting response to Indian aggressive designs. He urged the Pakistani nation to boycott Indian products and said the government should stop the visits of Indian cultural troupes and Indian imports. The screening of Indian films should be stopped, he added. He also urged the traders to cancel the trade agreements with India.
Meanwhile, JI Naib Ameer Rashid Naseem, speaking at a function here, said the womenfolk in the west were embracing Islam in large numbers after rejecting the exploitative western culture.
He said the ratio of women embracing Islam in the western countries was well above 70 per cent. He said the west had been using the womenfolk as a marketing commodity but now there was an increasing awareness among the women about the protection of their respect. He said the propaganda of the western media against Islam had failed to control the increasing culture of Hijab which was becoming popular all over the world. Rashid Naseem also said the increasing awareness among the Pakistani women about their natural responsibilities was a healthy sign.
