NAB chief given briefing on Dr Abdul Samad case

ISLAMABAD: On the directions of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal, a combined investigation team (CIT) of the NAB KP gave briefing to him regarding investigation against Director Directorate of Archaeology and Museums KP Dr Abdul Samad along with relevant record.

The CIT of the NAB presented details regarding grounds for arrest, evidence collected and role of accused persons to the NAB chairman.

The NAB chairman while taking notice of the arrest of Dr Abdul Samad on Saturday had directed Director General NAB KP to present the accused before him at the NAB headquarters along with record and details of the allegations levelled against him. The NAB chief was informed that the instant matter was also earlier taken up by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), KP.

Justice (R) Javed Iqbal provided necessary guidance regarding collection of further evidence and directed to conclude the investigation on merit after examining all relevant rules and procedures and meeting all codal formalities. It was further directed that self-respect of any person should not be undermined in any case.
