PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial president Humayun Khan on Tuesday said his party would continue efforts against the ban on labour unions in State Life and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
Through a statement issued here, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was snatching the basic democratic rights from the people.
The PPP leader said the PTI government first put curbs on the media and now on the social media. The government had now started snatching rights from the labour unions, he added.
He said the rulers had promised not to take loan from the International Monitory Fund but the government took a U-turn on the issue.
Humayun Khan also announced the provincial office-bearers for the People’s Doctors Forum (PDF).
The announcement was made in consultation with the provincial office-bearers of the People’s Doctors Forum. Dr Akhtar Zaman Khattak was elected as senior vice-president while Dr Hussain as vice- president.
Dr Saifullah was elected as vice-president II, Dr Waqar as joint secretary, Dr Fahimullah as secretary finance, Dr Saeed Mureed Ali Tirmizi as provincial spokesman, Dr Q Hussain as coordination secretary and Dr Lal Hussain as culture secretary.
The PPP provincial office-bearers restored Ibrar Khan Nahaqi as general secretary, PPP Peshawar division after expressing satisfaction over his response to the show-cause notice issued to him.
