The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi on Monday announced the results of the higher secondary certificate part II supplementary examinations 2018 for groups that included humanities regular, humanities private part II, home economics and commerce private. According to the results, around 776 male candidates were registered in the group of Humanities Regular Part II. Out of them, 739 appeared in the exam and 257 were declared successful. The ratio of passing male candidates remained 34 per cent. Likewise, 3441 female candidates attempted their papers. But only 1,167 students cleared the exams. Their passing percentage remained 33. In the group of Humanities Private Part II, the board had registered 1477 male candidates. Among those candidates, only 585 passed all papers. For the same assessment process, 1,852 female candidates also got registration but 678 passed their papers. The result gazette shows that 73 candidates got registration in the Home Economics Part II examination. But only 30 students passed their examinations. Similarly, in the group of Commerce Private Part II, 2,510 candidates appeared in the supplementary examinations. Out of them, only 907 cleared their papers. During the examinations, the board officials registered six cases of unfair means. On the basis of these cases, the board also withheld their results until the completion of a judicious procedure to decide such cases. “The board will ensure provision of a fair opportunity of personal appearance, hearing, and defence to all candidates involved in such cases,” theu stated in the result gazette. It has also mentioned that these results are completely provisional in which errors or omissions are expected. Therefore, the board reserves the right of rectifying errors and omissions in the results at any time on the basis of the original record. However, the board does not hold itself responsible for any mistake.
