Rain plays spoil sport
ISLAMABAD: Syed Tajammul Abbas ITF Pakistan World Junior Ranking Tennis Championships got off to a wet start at the PTF Complex here Monday as all the matches were rescheduled for today (Tuesday).
Earlier, in the morning a formal opening ceremony of the championships was held at the PTF’s Conference Hall.
PTF President Salim Saifullah Khan, Patron Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, Islamabad Tennis Association President Tariq Mehmood Murtaza and other senior executives of the PTF were present on the occasion.
Saifullah lauded the efforts of Senator Abbas for hosting the ITF event in the memory of his elder brother Syed Tajammul Abbas regularly.
He also welcomed all the foreign players, parents, coaches to the beautiful city of Pakistan and assured the participants of their comfortable stay.
Due to bad weather and heavy rain in Islamabad, ITF supervisor Muhammad Arif Qureshi called off all the matches and rescheduled these for Tuesday.
