Military cops visit PPIC3

LAHORE: Military Police Officers from Corps of Military Police School, Dera Ismail Khan, visited PPIC3, Qurban Lines Lahore, Monday.

The 23-member delegation was apprised of functions and structure of the premier project of Punjab Safe Cities Authority by the Chief Administration officer Muhammad Kamran Khan. The officers, while escorting the entourage, established the inevitability of such pervasive and omniscient policing enterprise as a valid remedy to modern day security challenges.

We are transforming Police into an agile, tech-savvy, fully equipped, motivated and modern emergency response unit, said PSCA admin officer while addressing the delegation. The delegation was taken to various sections of IC3 namely, Operations Monitoring Centre, Emergency Call Centre, Dispatch Control Centre and Media Monitoring Centre. It has become one of the essentials of security and law enforcement training courses to acquaint officers along the operations and scopes of Integrated Command, Control and Communication Centre, said head of the delegation. The project was lauded by MP Officers who spoke very high of the prowess of youth workforce and the faculty itself. The visit concluded on exchange of souvenir and shields from both the departments.

226 CRIMINALS ARRESTED: Sadar Division police in its crackdown against the criminals arrested around 226 criminals and recovered 24 pistols, one rifle, bullets, bikes, mobile phones, more than 7kg charas, 1kg heroin and 249 bottles of liquor. SP Sadar Division Syed Ali had directed the DSPs and SHOs concerned to take strict action against criminal gangs. Accordingly Sadar Division Police busted five gangs, arrested its 15 members and recovered more than Rs9 lakh from them.

Moreover, 29 proclaimed & target offenders in cases of cheque dishonour, theft, dacoity and other crimes whereas 16 court offenders were arrested. Police recovered more than Rs38,000 from the criminals in its action against gamblers. Sadar Division Police also arrested 96 criminals for violating Kite Flying and Rental Acts.
