Seven-year girl electrocuted in Sundar

LAHORE : A seven-year-old girl was electrocuted in Sundar area here on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Laiba. It was reported that the girl was putting clothes on an iron wire in her house when she came in contact with the faulty wire and got electric shocks and died on the spot.

Bodies handed over to family: Bodies of three people killed in Factory Area police jurisdiction a day ago were handed over to the heirs after postmortem here on Sunday.

Victims Nasreen Bibi and her 12-year-old daughter Bisma were killed by Nasreen's brother Maqsood over a property issue. Later, Maqsood fired shots at policemen who reached his hideout on information of Maqsood’s brother Shahid. As a result, Shahid got fatal wounds and died on the spot. Three cops of Factory Area police were also injured in the raid.

Police did not take appropriate measures to arrest the murderer before carrying out the raid. Police raided the place of Maqsood on information of his brother Shahid but miserably failed to protect him who lost his life on the spot. Meanwhile, Factory Area police registered two FIRs against murderer Maqsood, one on the complaint of his brother-in-law Hafeez and other on the complaint of Homicide In charge SI Arif.

Arms, bullets seized: Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) recovered 19 pistols, 1 pump action, 11 magazines and hundreds of bullets during the last one week.

Dolphins Squad and PRU also recovered narcotics including 53 bottles of liquor and more than 1,200-gm charas from the accused criminals. Dolphins and PRU helped 959 people on different roads, checked more than 17 thousands vehicles, more than 01 lakh 50 thousands motor bikes and more than 94 thousands persons.

Vehicles and 1,475 motor bikes were impounded in different police stations due to incomplete documents. Dolphins and PRU wings showed immediate response to the all 1644 calls received on helpline 15. As many as 05 cars, 49 bikes, 08 mobile phones and more than 54 thousand rupees were recovered from the criminals during action. Dolphin Squad and PRU also arrested 12 criminals for violating One Wheeling, 94 for Kite Flying and another 07 accused persons for violating Fire Arms Acts. Both Dolphin Squad and PRU also arrested 16 Target offenders during last week crackdown.

prisoners: Around 3,600 under-trial prisoners from Lahore and 35 prisoners from other districts were safely presented in various courts by Headquarters' Judicial Wing.

Free medical treatment was provided to 109 police employees at Emergency and 791 patients at Outdoor of the THQ hospital of Police Lines. Firing practice of as many as 111 officials was conducted with different guns. 200 policemen of Anti Right Force performed duties where as more than 500 persons were dispersed peacefully. Sixteen policemen donated blood to patients of Intensive Care Unit (ICUs) of different hospitals. A training course on "Better Service Delivery and Attitudinal Change" was also held to bring improvement in behavior and working of policemen.

Report: Punjab IG got a report on firing on Punjab Highway patrolling van in DG Khan from the officers concerned.

RPO DG Khan Umar Sheikh submitted the report. According to the report, some unidentified people snatched Honda-125 motorcycle from a citizen, Muhammad Ramzan, in Pul Notak near PHP post Shadan Lund at gunpoint and opened fire on resistance. After hearing gunshots, the nearby patrolling police shift team reached the spot. Culprits opened fire and injured three constables Ghulam Fareed, Irshad Hussain and Muhammad Ismail.

CCPO: CCPO visited a local hospital and inquired after Factory Area police officials’ health injured in an alleged police encounter. The CCPO directed best medical facilities for the officials. The condition of one of the injured constables was said to be precarious.
