Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) National Organiser Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with Punjab Organiser Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar on Friday to discuss the organisational issues. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Organiser Punjab Rai Azizullah.
During the discussion, both leaders agreed on the need to prepare the party for the Local Government as well as national elections. Mohammad Sarwar said the candidates must be selected on merit through a transparent process. They also agreed that the District Coordinators should be selected on merit with the mutual consent.
Later, talking to a delegation of party leaders comprising Deputy Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Subtain Khan, Major (R) Khalil-ur-Rehman and Ch Asghar Warraich at the provincial secretariat, Ch Sarwar said deep rooted corruption, eating away Rs 400 billion annually, had destroyed the whole system of the country and we needed transparent accountability of all the corrupt for the sake of a stable Pakistan. He said national institutions like PIA, Pakistan Steel, Water and Power, Sui Gas, Police, Income Tax, Revenue and Railways were systematically ruined over a period of time due to bad governance and corrupt rulers.
He said the miseries of the people of Pakistan were increasing day by day due to several crises faced by the country which in turn was a result of malpractices and incapable rulers. He said the masses were suffering from lawlessness, poverty, power load-shedding and price hike, but the ruling elite was enjoying all the luxuries looted from the national wealth.
