LALAMUSA: The Health Department employees, including contract staffers, on Thursday again stage a protest against the EDO Health and demanded his immediate transfer.
Previously, a similar protest was held on May 11. Hundreds of people, including women who had come from different BHUs and RHCs, attended the protest. They accused the EDO of behaving unsuitably with female staff and said the contract employees had been made permanent across Punjab but not in Gujrat, whose number stood at 437.
DO Health Dr Abid Ghauri and the DCO’s representative held dialogue with All Health Association Gujrat President Chaudhry Jamil Ahmed but the attempt failed.
Later, DCO Liaqat Ali Chattha and Assistant Commissioner Mian Iqbal Mazhar held talks with them which helped ending the demonstration.
A committee formed by the DCO recommended surrendering the EDO Health services as allegedly he was guilty and was already facing corruption cases. However, when contacted, EDO Health Gujrat Ejaz Haider was not available for his comments. However, when contacted, EDO Health Gujrat Ejaz Haider was not available for his comments.
