Bilawal to release White Paper on poll rigging
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has finalised its “White Paper’ on alleged rigging in General Elections 2018, which would be launched on the return of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from his visit of the United States and Europe.
“We are waiting for Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to return for the launch of the White paper,” said sources in the PPP who were involved in drafting the White Paper. It was already late as seven months have passed after the general elections. The party agrees with the perception of being late in unveiling it arguing it was not late as it was a comprehensive report on how the elections were rigged and also suggested measures to ensure next election as free, fair and transparent.
The white paper of the PPP talks about the issues like controversial census, obstructing the elections observers, manipulating electable, stifling of the media and voice of dissent, delimitations in violation of laws, denial of level playing field, mysterious deployment of the army personals inside the polling station, mainstreaming militant organisations as electoral political parties, deliberately failure of RTS system that two day delay in announcement of election results , throwing out of the poling agents. It says 95 percent of form 45 did not have signatures of their polling agents.
According to sources in the PPP, the White Paper has left out no aspect of the electoral process and it will help the political parties to keep eye on the manipulators and frustrate the manipulators in future.
The PPP in its White paper also talked about the RTS hoax and raised the question about the CCTV recordings and why were accredited observers and journalists not allowed to see the counting process.
