TAKHT BHAI: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Ameer Haider Hoti Thursday said that the diversion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Pakistan (CPEC) was the failure of the policies of the provincial government.
Speaking at a public meeting and later talking to reporters, he said that change in the route of the project was the consequence of the flawed policies and wrong decision making. He said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)-led government lacked strategy to secure the rights of the province.
Haider Hoti said the PTI’s chief Imran Khan was not interested in the development and welfare of the people of the province. He said that changes had been made in the original plan of the CPEC route to benefit the Punjab province. “It’s injustice with the people of the militancy-torn Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he added.
The nationalist leader said that the people of the province rendered sacrifices more than any other ethnic group and had always played a leading role in the defence f the country. He made it clear that ANP never opposed but demanded due rights for all the provinces in the project. Haider Hoti said that the PTI’s government had disappointed the people and hoped that they would vote for the ANP candidates in the local government elections.
