Central PML-N leader MNA Hamza Shahbaz has said the bold, courageous and timely decision of the leadership played an important role in making the country a nuclear power. He said the Muslim League-N under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was committed to making Pakistan a great country. He said the investment of 46 billion dollars by China would change the destiny of the country. However, he said that like Kala Bagh Dam, the economic corridor of the splendid project would not be allowed to be politicised.
He said this while addressing a function on the occasion of Yaum-e-Takbeer arranged by PML (N) Traders Wing at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Thursday. Hamza Shahbaz said that sit-ins wasted six months out of two years of the government but now there was a ray of hope that the promise of eliminating load-shedding made by the present government would be fulfilled up to 2018. He said the 100-megawatt electricity had started adding through solar energy project at Bahawalpur which would increase to 900 megawatt whereas coal-based 1,300 megawatt electricity project was under completion.
Had Kala Bagh Dam not been politicised, there would have been 6,000 megawatt hydel electricity and lakhs of acres land irrigated, he added. Hamza Shahbaz said the criticism by the PTI on metro was unjustified. He said that 1.25 lakh persons travelled daily by air-conditioned metro buses in Lahore whereas after the inauguration in Rawalpindi next week, the metro project would be started in Multan. Similarly, after Lahore-Rawalpindi motorway, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has started 1000 km long motorway project from Lahore to Karachi which will bring good news of development and prosperity, he added. Hamza Shahbaz said the Punjab government had started potable water project at a cost of billions of rupees due to which 3.25 crore people would get facility of clean drinking water by the end of 2017.
Hamza Shahbaz strongly criticising the PTI said that no one was spared by the PTI in levelling allegations and abusing in the sit-ins of six months, but Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif did not lose patience. He said the success in cantonment local bodies’ elections and the majority in by-election in Multan was more than the general elections. He said now Imran Khan was admitting that he did nothing except to waste time.
Hamza Shahbaz cut a cake along with the workers at the function of Yaum-e-Takbeer and congratulated them on this occasion. He said this day was memorable for every Pakistani. Raising slogans with the workers, he said the leadership making atomic power would also make the country an economic tiger. PML (N) President Pervaiz Malik, General Secretary Kh. Imran Nazir, Special Assistant Nasir Saeed and Chairman Tajir Etihad Lahore Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, addressing the function, paid rich tributes to PML (N) leadership which made the country nuclear power through bold steps.
Provincial Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran, Assembly Members Shahbaz Ahmed, Majid Zahoor, Ghazali Saleem Butt, Secretary Information PML (N) Lahore Imran Goraya, presidents various markets, traders and workers attended the function in large numbers. National anthem was also recited whereas a large number of women also attended the function.
