ISLAMABAD: The United States Department has said that it is in contact with Pakistan on the issue of Axact.
This was stated in the reply of a letter written by FIA to FBI. Earlier, the US State Department had said that it had not entered into any agreement with Axact. But it also said that the US government was rarely in a position to search or take action in connection with fake degree issues.
It said that the US government will only take interest in the money laundering aspect of this issue. It also takes interest in the branches of banks which were used in connection with Axact case in US in transferring and depositing money.
