LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency has initiated inquiry against its recently promoted deputy director for allegedly accumulating wealth beyond his known sources of income, The News has learnt.
Sources told The News that FIA Sindh Director, Karachi zone, Shahid Hayat had a month back sought permission from FIA Director General Akbar Hoti for initiating an inquiry against Deputy Director Badaruddin Baloch.
The DG, after going through the request, allowed Hayat-led FIA Karachi zone to grill Baloch for allegedly accumulating wealth beyond his income. It is also learnt that Shahid Hayat, through a letter No 17/242/10/2015/A-1442 dated April 21, 2015, had also requested FIA DG to place Badaruddin Baloch under suspension for his alleged illegal acts.
