The Axact fake degree scandal was the major subject of discussion among the guests here Tuesday evening in the crowded diplomatic reception where 97th anniversary of the Republic Day of Azerbaijan was celebrated.
The reception was hosted by ambassador Dashgin Shikarov of Azerbaijan. Federal Minister Lieutenant General (Retired) Abdul Qadir Baloch was the chief guest and it was also attended by former Foreign Minister Gohar Ayub Khan, former federal minister Owais Leghari, former State Minister for Interior Dr. Shehzad Waseem, Vice Chancellor ZAB Medical University Professor Javaid Akram, ANP leader Haji Muhammad Adeel, ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Eissa Abdulla Al Basha Al-Nuaima, acting ambassador of Saudi Arabia Jassim Muhammad Al-Khaledi, Argentinean Ambassador and Dean f Diplomats Rodolfo J. Martin Saravia, ambassador Bahrain Mohammad Ebrahim Abdul Qader, Romanian envoy Emilian lon, Bangladesh High Commissioner Suhrab Hussain, Egyptian ambassador Said Muhammad El-said Hindam, ambassador of Iran Ali Reza Haghighian, Nigerian high commissioner Dauda Danladi, Jordanian ambassador Nawaf Khalifeh Ibrahim Saraireh, Ukraine ambassador Volodymyr Lakomov, ambassador of Tajikistan Sherali Jononov Said Amirovoch, Japanese ambassador Hiroshi Inomata and Turkey’s ambassador Sadik Babur Girgin.
The guests enjoyed the evening thoroughly and Operation Zarb-e-Azb, assassination of two lawyers in Daska and harsh reaction shown by the lawyers and Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (PCEC) were the subjects under discussion by the guests.
Ambassador Azerbaijan Dashgin Shiarov termed visit of Pakistan’s President Mamnoon Hussain to Azerbaijan last month as useful and highly productive.
He reminded that his country would continue to support Pakistan on the question of Kashmir on all forums of the world. He thanked Pakistan’s leadership for its support on Nokorno Karabagh issue.
Turkish ambassador Sadik Babur Girgin was critical of New York Times and said the newspaper has editorially asked for coup in Turkey. “It’s highly deplorable from a newspaper that is appearing in the United States talking of military coup.”
