This was announced by Provincial Information Minister, Abdul Raheem Ziaratwal after the meeting of the provincial cabinet held here on Thursday.
He said: “The meeting of the provincial cabinet lasted for six hours, which unanimously approved the decision of the cabinet to move no confidence motion against Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali during the ongoing session of the Provincial Assembly.”
He said the provincial cabinet also approved other decisions and bills, including Balochistan Sound System (Regulation) Bill 2015, Balochistan Protection of Witness Bill 2015, Balochistan Sales Tax and Services Bill 2015, Regularization of TTC Industrial Employees Bill 2015 and Anti-chalking Bill 2015.
He said funds allocated for Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) have been utilised. He said the Home Department gave briefing to the Cabinet that the number of heinous crimes, including kidnapping for ransom, targeted killings, sectarian violence, robberies and others have decreased by 70 percent while the law and order situation has improved.
He said the cabinet appreciated the role of law-enforcement agencies, including police
and Levies Force, to curb crimes and to restore peace and order. He said Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch took serious notice of power crisis in Balochistan and formed eight-member committee to take up the issue with the concerned authorities. He said the areas from Loralai to Khuzdar have been facing water shortage due to shortage of electricity. He said the cabinet was told that Budget 2015-16 would have size of over 200 billion rupees. He said the non-development expenditures would also include regularisation of service of 5,000 employees and increase in salaries of Police and Levies Force.
