PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that as many as 1,000 community-based girls schools are being established throughout the province during the current year.
Through a communique, he said that more than 50,000 girls would be enrolled in the proposed schools, adding that education was top priority of the present government.The chief minister said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government had come into power with a vision to serve its people. Pervez Khattak said Rs100 million had been allocated for the stipends of female students of middle schools, with the aim to promote education rate among women and minimise dropout ratio at primary level.
He said the scheme had been introduced in seven selected districts of the province, being areas of low enrollment ratio. He added that efforts were being made to raise literacy rate in the province.
