Rally against Passco for not providing gunny bags

HAFIZABAD: A large number of farmers took out a rally against the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation Ltd (Passco) for not providing gunny bags to them.
The protesters led by Kisan Board president Ch Amanullah Chattha took out a rally from Alipur Road up to the press club. They were chanting slogans against the government and the Passco. They were also carrying placards and banners. The protesting farmers burnt the gunny bags tokens to register their protest.
Addressing the protesters, Amanullah Chattha alleged that the Passco was providing gunny bags to the favourites and ignoring the poor farmers. He said that the farmers would take out a long march to press their demands on October 4. When contacted, the Passco officials said that the gunny bags were being provided to the farmers on merit.
SCIENCE EXHIBITION: An exhibition of science models and saplings of various varieties was held at the Government Model Higher Secondary School here.
Speaking on the occasion, the DCO appreciated the models prepared by the students. He said that the teachers could play a vital role in the prosperity and stability of the country by discharging their duties honestly. DMO Haider Ali Chattha, EDO Education Iftikhar Nawaz Virk, DEO Rai Muhammad Irshad, Principal Mian Inayatullah and others were also present.
EYE SPECIALIST DEMANDED: Patients have been facing several problems due to unavailability of eye specialists at the DHQ Hospital.
Talking to newsmen here, the patients said that there was not eye specialist at the hospital due to which they were forced to go to private hospitals and clinics. They have demanded the high-ups concerned appoint three eye specialists at the DHQ Hospital.
