Rootsians science & arts expo and graduation ceremony held

Highlighting advancement in Science, Technology and Innovation amongst the youth creative students of Roots Ivy International School, G.T. Road Campus showcased their ingenuity and talent at the annual Science & Art Expo 2015, says a press release.
The expo was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. Zia ul Islam, director, Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency Ministry of Climate Change.
The event was the Environmental, Science and Arts Exhibition featuring an outstanding display of 3-D environment based projects based on topics like; recycling, deforestation, sea pollution, ozone layer depletion, global warming and energy conservation.
Students had creatively designed projects under the supervision of their teachers and decorated their stalls with intricate arts and crafts portraying environmental issues and highlighting them with motivating captions like: “Reuse-Reduce-Recycle, Think globally but act locally, Trees are terrific, Sun is our future, Go Green, Energy: a necessity.”
The students also exhibited hybrid technology as an alternate source of energy for a sustainable future highlighting the sensitivity and understanding of the students of the present energy crises being confronted in the country. They showed another interesting project that monitoring the flow of traffic, calculating the number of vehicles and the time required for every signal to be operational. The students showcased life size models, buildings, machines, industrial motor boats and suggested through practical demonstrations, solutions to overcome the energy crises, encouraging alternate sources of energy i.e. solar, hydel, wind power and biogas, to meet the ever increasing demand of energy in the country.
The young performers of the junior section mesmerized the audience with their stunning performances and captivating display of ‘Wearable Art’ prepared with recycled materials. Being the ambassadors of Green School and WWF, the junior students walked the ramp in front of a very excited audience to highlight the important issue of Global Warming and create awareness among the people on this grave global issue.
Chief guest Dr. Zia ul Islam along with Khadija Mushtaq gave away the medals and shields to the high achievers of academic session 2013-14.
