PESHAWAR: The Muttahidda Talaba Mahaz, University of Peshawar (UoP), on Wednesday asked the government to take action against the administration of Sociology, Social Work and Institute of Management Studies (IMS) for alleged violation of university rules.
Speaking at a news conference, President Pakhtun Students Federation (PkSF) Akhtar Iqbal alleged that students of Sociology, Social Work and IMS were facing numerous problems due to the incompetence of the administration of these departments.
People’s Students Federation (PSF) leader Riaz Yousafzai, Insaf Students Federation (ISF) leader Hafizur Rahman, Shahzad Gul of Chitral Students Welfare Society and others were also present on the occasion.
Akhtar Iqbal said that in violation of university rules 40 percent increase was made in fees instead of 10 percent, while fee for make-up examination was also increased. He said it was a total injustice with the poor students. The student leader also accused the heads of the departments of inefficiency and inability to solve the problems faced by the students and impart them quality education.
