The assassination of Sabeen Mahmud has made it quite obvious that sanity is a crime and rationality has been giving way to bigotry and intolerance in this country.
Anybody who wishes to initiate rational discourse should keep one thing in mind: that his/her survival is impossible in this land of the pure. No wonder Pakistan is a place where people like Mumtaz Qadri are portrayed as national heroes. And all those who are asking for justice for late Sabeen Mahmud should understand that it is a futile exercise.

Social activist Sabeen Mahmud was shot dead and her mother was injured shortly after leaving café T2F. Sabeen was considerate and kind woman and spoke for the minorities of our country and those living on the margins of our society.
She wanted to bring a change in our country and she used her café to hold discussions on varying subjects. The café was a sanctuary for holding candid talks and discussions. The place gave people from different communities to raise their voice. Karachi mourns her death as the barrel of the gun prevails again.
