The Technical Committee on the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme on Tuesday discussed the reservations raised by Transparency International Pakistan (TIP) on the newly advertised tender notice floated for procurement of 2-in-1 laptops for university students.
The meeting held at Higher Education Commission (HEC) Secretariat and chaired by HEC Executive Director Dr Mansoor Akbar Kundi thoroughly dilated upon objections raised by TIP.
The committee, after due deliberations, decided to invite representatives from Transparency International Pakistan (TIP), National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) to attend committee’s next meeting so that the raised issues are deliberated in detail and a consensus is reached to resolve them. The meeting is scheduled to be held during next week.
The Technical Committee members include Director (IT), Ministry of Information and Technology Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, Director General (Enterprise Applications) Punjab Information Technology Board, Lahore, Waqar Qureshi, Secretary, Information, Science and Technology Department Sajjad Hussain Abbasi, Managing Director, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board Farah Hamid Khan, Secretary Education, Higher Education Department, Quetta Abdul Saboor Kakar, and Director General (IT) HEC Anwar Amjad.
