The city commissioner has announced to celebrate the ‘Karachi Day’ on the second Sunday of March every year.
An agreement was also signed between the city administration and the I AM Karachi in this regard.
Shoaib Siddiqui said that observing the day with a vow to make the metropolis a beautiful and peaceful city is a good endeavour and reiterated that efforts were being made by the government to make the city green and peaceful.
The commissioner was addressing as a chief guest at a ceremony organised by the ‘I AM Karachi’ on Tuesday.
The marking of Karachi Day accord was signed by Shoaib Siddiqui and on behalf of I AM Karachi by Jameel Yousuf.
The commissioner maintained that the day will help to create awareness among the Karachiites to make city more beautiful, adding that efforts of I AM Karachi has empowered the government’s determination in this regard.
On the occasion, the non-governmental organisations arranged a walk in connection with I AM Karachi and performed clean up activities at sea view as well as in different areas of the city.
