Five people, including a woman and three minors, were killed and two others injured in road accidents on Tuesday.
Thirty-five-year-old Saba, wife of Sadiq, and her five and three-year-old sons, Junaid and Faizan, died while her brother Kamran, 30, was injured when a speeding vehicle collided with their motorcycle near Mawach Goth.
Nazar Muhammad, 25, died and an unidentified man appearing to be in his mid-fifties were injured when a Suzuki Hi-Roof rammed into a rickshaw parked near Race Course, within Frere police limits.
The vehicle was impounded but the driver, who was arrested, died on the way to the JPMC.
Five-year-old Alizeh, daughter of Muhammad Zubair, died after she fell off her mother’s lap when a speeding vehicle hit their motorcycle near Power House Chowrangi, in New Karachi police limits. The driver of the car was taken into custody.
Body found
A decomposed body of 22-year-old Babar was found floating in the sea near the Hawkesbay Beach.
The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital, where a MLO said it was at least two days old.
Police said Babar had come to the beach on Sunday along with his family members for a picnic.
