PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said that the internally displaced persons (IDPs) would be provided jobs and business opportunities from local resources on return to native areas.
Talking to the World Food Programme (WFP) Country Director in Pakistan, Lola Castro at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad on Monday, he said the IDPs would be enabled to use local resources for growing orchards.
He stressed the need of investment in the local resource generation and creation of business friendly environment in tribal areas. The governor hoped the newly opened trade routes with neighbouring Afghanistan and exploration from the local natural resources would encourage the tribespeople to engage in business activities. Country Director, World Food Programme, Lora Castro acknowledged Pakistan’s role as major contributor to the WFP for their activities in the country.
