A cosmopolitan crowd from 19 countries of the world gathered at the Sheikh Zayed International Academy (SZIA) here on Saturday to pay tribute to globalisation in an institution which best reflects the spirit of internationalism.
The event packaged vibrant stage presentations upholding the diversity of various cultures of the world. This was followed by a grand buffet of international cuisines. Stalls set up by embassies of countries represented by the student body and the staff members, offered attractive items highlighting their respective cultures and traditions.
“This is our tribute to internationalism, which is also the spirit of this institution, as well as its students and staff,” SZIA’s principal Wafaa Abdul Ghaffar stated, terming academic excellence and cultural vibrancy as the twin features of the institution. “Our students have brought laurels in educational attainments, both in internal and external evaluations. As such, they have proved to be leaders by virtue of their achievements among other institutions of Islamabad,” Wafaa stated.
The event was attended by a number of ambassadors and high delegations, alongside parents. In the end, Mattar Ali Al Mansoori, the DHM of the embassy of the United Arab Emirates, distributed medals and certificates to students in recognition of their academic and extra-curricular achievements.
