OKARA: The district police on Sunday organised a flag march to create a sense of protection among the masses here.
The policemen riding on cars, jeeps and motorcycles organised the flag march on various roads of the city and GT Road. Meanwhile, Anjuman-e-Mazareen Punjab spokesman Noor Nabi told media that the AMP had not asked tenants to obstruct entry of police during a search operation in their villages. He said that the police could conduct search operation any time. He claimed that the police wanted to obtain detaining orders of 70 AMP workers from the court, but, if it happened, the orders would be challenged in the court.
He told that the tenants would stage a sit-in in Lahore on April 17 and no illegal or objectionable activity was going on in the tenants’ villages. Meanwhile, DPO Faisal Rana told media that he had received information about possible terrorist activities in the district. He said that the police and the Elite Force contingents in the Tayyab Saeed Shaheed Police Lines were ready to meet any emergency situation.
