KARACHI: The national hockey team’s preparations for Olympic qualifying rounds would not be affected by funds shortage and the training camp would be resumed in Lahore from April 11 or 12, PHF president Akhtar Rasool said while talking to ‘The News’ on Wednesday.
He ruled out accepting any financial assistance from Hockey India. “It is our internal matter and we will resolve it through mutual understanding,” he said.
Hockey India last week offered financial help to PHF after the latter had closed the training camp.
Akhtar said the PHF officials would meet information minister Pervaiz Rasheed and discuss all the national hockey issues.
Akhtar said that he had contacted all the relevant people, including IPC minister Riaz Peerzada, and all had assured him of resolving the financial issues of PHF.
The Green-shirts’ preparation for Olympics would not be affected, he claimed. He expressed the hope that when further meetings would be held with the federal government officials all problems would be addressed.
