Police solve DPC member’s murder mystery

GUJRANWALA: Police have solved the mystery shrouding the murder of District Peace Committee (DPC) member Syed Mazahir Ali Shah and arrested two dacoits.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, CPO Muhammad Waqas Nazir said that Mazahir Ali with his nephew Haider Ali was on way home from an Imambargah when unidentified people shot him dead near Chowk Ghoray Shah on March 20. He said that he constituted a special police team under the supervision of CIA SP Tahir Maqsood, which investigated the case on scientific lines and succeeded to arrest two accused Farzand Ali Dogar and Dilawar Dogar, residents of Kotli Rustam village. Police also recovered two pistols used in the incident. The two arrested accused were dacoits and they were wanted by police in several dacoity cases. During preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to killing the District Peace Committee member on resistance during a dacoity.
