Over 55 persons sustained injuries when the platform, built on a ‘nullah’, of an under-construction church, suddenly collapsed during funeral of a woman after Easter Service at French Colony in Sector F-7 here on Monday, police said.
Volunteers and cops shifted the injured people to the PIMS where they were declared out of danger.
The Aabpara Police Station SHO told this correspondent that the Christian community members gathered in front of the church to attend funeral of Bushra Bibi after Easter Service, adding that most participants sat on the platform constructed on a ‘nullah’ which could not bear the load and caved in.
Police and volunteers rescued the people and shifted them to the PIMS. According to police, no one was seriously injured.
