NOWSHERA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq on Sunday asked the government to play its role for the restoration of peace in the Muslim world.
Speaking at a party meeting at Darul Uloom Haqania in Akora Khattak, the JUI-S chief said that it was the responsibility of the Muslim rulers to bring the warring parties in the Arab world to the negotiating table and foil the conspiracy against Islam.
The meeting also discussed the party’s preparation for the upcoming local bodies’ elections and decided that JUI-S would participate in the elections. It also hinted at forming electoral alliance with other political parties.
The meeting, which was attended by district presidents and general secretaries, empowered the provincial leaders, including Hamidul Haq and Maulana Syed Muhammad Yousaf Shah to discuss alliance with other parties.The meeting asked the government to take steps for putting an end to horse-trading in the upcoming elections.
