Personality-based elections will create chaos: Shujaat
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Q president and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that in the presence of external conspiracies election on personality basis will be of no benefit, it will create chaos, all politicians should forge unity in their ranks.
He said this while talking to media along with senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi, former federal minister Ch Wajahat Hussain, Moonis Elahi, Shafay Hussain, Hussain Elahi and other Muslim League leaders.
Ch Shujaat Hussain said decisions of the country have to be taken between Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha but presently external conspiracies are being hatched against the country, results of the election to be held in these circumstances will create chaos, elections to be held on personality basis are of no benefit, country's security should be foremost, as such my advice to all politicians that they should unite brushing aside all opposition.
In reply to a question, he said new wave of price-hike has hit the country, dollar rate going up is adversely affecting common man.
He urged the voters to defeat former rulers for their anti-people measures in the election. Power outages have destroyed economy, dollar has become unbridled like N-League stance, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has economically destroyed the country, he said, adding there is no chance of N-League coming into power again, it will have to account for its 25 years power, claimants of elimination of outages have taken away electricity with the end of their rule, there is a great anger among the people against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) campaign against the institutions, both brothers have strange policies, so people should vote with due thinking and consideration and elect such persons which are better for them, they should vote for Pakistan Muslim League-Q, we have served people earlier, will also do in future, the PML-Q leader added.
Ch Shujaat Hussain, Ch Pervaiz Elahi and other family members offered Eid prayer in Gujrat, visited graves of their elders, including Ch Zahoor Elahi and Ch Manzoor Elahi and offered Fateha, large number of people from every walk of life, important personalities, Muslim League leaders, workers and local government representatives exchanged Eid greetings with them.
Governor offers Eid prayers at Badshahi Masjid: Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana offered Eid prayer at Badshahi Masjid after which he spent a busy day at Governor’s House where a large number of citizens called on him.
After offering the prayer, the governor mixed with people and greeted them over Eid. Later, at the Governor’s House, he also met public as well senior officials including Punjab Chief Secretary Akber Durrani and Inspector General Kaleem Imam.
