Punjab Director General Rescue Dr Rizwan Naseer carried out a performance review of emergency operations in all 36 districts of Punjab to ensure uniform standard of service and smooth emergency services delivery without discrimination.
The emergency data showed that 48,076 victims of different emergencies were rescued by the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) by conducting 50,191 rescue operations in March all over the Punjab while maintaining its average response time of 07 minutes.
The emergency calls to which Rescue 1122 responded include 19,072 road traffic accidents, 23,881 medical emergencies, 718 fire incidents, 1,636 crimes, 68 drowning incidents, 92 building collapses, 14 explosions and 4,710 miscellaneous operations.
Chairing a meeting of rescue officers/ officials at Rescue 1122 Headquarters, DG Dr Rizwan Naseer said after saving lives of over 3.1 million emergency victims through effective emergency management system, now “we are moving towards Changing Minds by Community Action for Disaster Response Emergencies (CADRE), training Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) for Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) & implementation of safe community development initiatives so that we can establish socially responsible, healthy, resilient and safer communities in Pakistan”.
Medical camp for acid victims: Renowned artistes Abrar-ul-Haq, Resham and many others will gather at the inauguration of a free medical camp for women sustaining kerosene and acid burns organised by a foundation at Defence on Thursday (today).
According to a statement by Mussarat Misbah, chief executive of the foundation, a four-member team of doctors from Spain will hold a free check-up of 40 women victims of acid and kerosene burns and will provide them free operations and treatment facility.
