PML-N to nominate strong candidates against defectors

LAHORE: The PML-N decided on Saturday to bring strong candidates in the constituencies of those leaving the party, as former prime minister Nawaz Sharif announced giving tickets to the party loyalists only.

As the party leadership agreed on the formula for awarding tickets, a meeting chaired by Nawaz made some important decision. Former federal minister Pervaiz Rashid, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and others attended the gathering. While defining loyalty to the party as the core principle for party tickets, the meeting finalised a formula for the purpose. Nawaz said only party loyalists would get tickets and an organised election campaign would be launched against the defectors, while ensuring overwhelming majority in Punjab.
