CM says country desperately needs honest leadership
HARIPUR/ABBOTTABAD: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Saturday said that only the honest leadership could steer the country out of prevailing crises.
“Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is the only party that has honest leadership having pledge to serve the country,” the chief minister told a public meeting in Hattar village here.
He said that the dishonest and corrupt leadership had not only failed to deliver but also destroyed the institutions.
However, he claimed that his party was the only party that has vision, commitment and honest leadership that could change the destiny of people and bring about positive changes in the standard of living.
“We have fulfilled our promise that we had made in our party’s manifesto. We have changed the police and patwari culture, reformed the health and education system,” he claimed, adding that when his party formed the provincial government that province was ravaged by terrorism, corruption and bad governance.
Pervez Khattak said that his party had changed the system by introducing record numbers of legislations which were imperative for putting the system on right track to start with. He added that unlike previous governments his party’s government had delivered practically.
Talking about the performance of his government, he said that the voters, who were best judge, would not only help the PTI form the governments in the province but also in the Centre during upcoming election.
The chief minister also inaugurated 22.5km dual carriage project of Haripur-Taxila Road, 35km single carriage Lora Chowk to Kohala Bala Road. He also administered oath to the newly-elected office-bearers of District Bar Association, Haripur.
Meanwhile, the chief minister opened work on Havelian -Dhamthore by-pass, which would be completed in nine months time.
The project has been assigned to Frontier Works Organisation as contractor and consultant of the project.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the corrupt politicians had ruined the departments. Pervez Khattak said the people of Abbottabad had suffered a lot due to overloading traffic, adding, the by-pass from Havelian to Dhamthore would be an example of quality of work.
