LAHORE: Five races of different classes and divisions have been scheduled in Sunday’s activity at the Lahore Race Club (LRC) before taking a Ramazan break.
After the Sunday’s (May 27) races, the racing activity will resume later next month after Eid. All the races of the day are of 800 metres in Super Conquest Plate.
In the first class 7 and division 5, all the focus is set on Desert Rain. This four year old equine in her eight runs have been placed second three times but it is believed could win. In a field of 18, On the Spot Win and Music Boy are the other two in favourite’s list. Both these ponies also did not win but have three and four place win under their belt. That is not all these three would be facing a tough challenge from some of the other ponies who have some good performance in their career.
The second race in class 7 and division 4 and 5 also has 18 in the run but pundits believe Stone Queen would surpass everyone. This thoroughbred has 84 participations with four wins and has been placed 25 times. For a second place, Gambler Boy and Furious have a tie in the eyes of handicappers while Uzair Prince has an outside chance of take any place out of the top three.
The third race of the day having 16 contestants is in class 7 and division 3 and 4. With two win under its belt Baa Maqsad, a four year old have participation in eight races and out of this it was nowhere in six. Its foremost challenger would be Ok Dear that has two wins and was second seven times from 11 races and Power of Dream that is believed to have a fluke have in its five years age 62 participations with two wins and places on 22 occasions.
The class 7 and division 2 and 3 fourth race has Socrates as the favourite. In its seven runs this four year old pony has seven participations and win of three places. For a second place some of the pundits believe Abdullah Princess would win but some say Spare Parts is a better choice. However, Rashk-e-Qamar is the one all believe can surprise everyone from a field of 17.
The fifth race of class 6 and division 3 and 4 has Mighty Satiyana as the favourite while Tarar Queen and Carry On Jutta are the two others in line of 15 for the win of taking a place.
