Protest staged against killing of Talash men
TIMERGARA: The residents of Talash in Lower Dir on Saturday staged a protest against killing of two persons in Swabi.
The protesters chanted slogans against Swabi police for failing to provide protection to the slain persons.
Sources said additional and sessions judge Swabi on Friday issued release orders of Humayun Khan, a resident of Gulo Dherai in Swabi, who was arrested in a murder case.
However, after his release, armed men opened indiscriminate fire on the vehicle of Humayun Khan, who was travelling back to Ziarat Talash along with his relatives, near Swabi interchange, killing Humayun Khan and his maternal uncle Bahadar Khan on the spot.
Speaking on the occasion, Ali Khan alleged that they had requested Swabi police for providing security but to no avail.
“The accused shot dead my brother Bahadar Khan and his nephew Humayun Khan and escaped after committing the murder,” said Ali Khan. He demanded chief justice Peshawar High Court and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor to order a judicial inquiry into the matter and give exemplary punishment to the accused Qaisar, Salman and Sher Zamin who have been nominated in the FIR.
