KARACHI: Brilliant Usman Javed became the first batsman to score a century in the 31st Aga Khan Gymkhana T20 Ramazan Cricket Tournament when the opener hammered 106 runs to help Jaffer Brothers beat holders Dollar East by 18 runs here at the AKG Ground.
Usman was the only batsman to score two successive centuries last year when he played for Omar Cricket Club.Jaffer Brothers batted first and accumulated 208-3, thanks to Usman’s knock of 55 balls. Noor Wali slammed unbeaten 61 off 32 balls.
In response, Dollar East showed good fighting spirit as Jahandad Khan blasted a splendid 26-ball 52 and Ejaz Ali Shah scored 48 off 24 balls. However, Dollar East’s valiant effort was not enough as they were bundled out for 190 in 19.2 overs.
