Schools warned for not adopting security arrangements

BHAKKAR: Strict action will be taken against those schools who will not follow security instructions issued by the Punjab government.
It was warned in a circular issued by Muhammad Tariq Khan Niazi, Additional Commissioner General, Sargodha Division, to all the DCOs of the division here on Saturday. He asked the administration of the schools to adopt security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident. He said that cases as per rules would be registered against such schools who had not yet followed the orders of security arrangements of the Punjab government. In the first stage, warning would be given to the heads of institutions while later they would be booked, he added.
PEOPLE ASKED TO COOPERATE WITH POLICE: DPO Agha Yousaf has asked the people to cooperate with the police to eliminate crimes from the district.
He said this while addressing a District Peace Committee meeting at his office here on Saturday. The DPO said that it was a responsibility of every citizen to keep vigilant eye on every suspect to avoid any untoward incident. He said that the district police were taking action against all anti-social elements, drug traffickers, gamblers and proclaimed offenders to maintain peace. The committee members assured the DPO that they would cooperate with the police in maintaining peace in the district.
137 VEHICLES IMPOUNDED: The Excise & Taxation Department teams impounded 137 vehicles during a general hold-up in the Sargodha Division including Bhakkar district.
The teams checked 365 vehicles while 24 vehicles and papers of 66 vehicles were taken into custody. The officials said that Rs 536,741 were due against the confiscated vehicles in the Sargodha Division.
