Islamabad: Having already seen showers this month, Islamabad and Rawalpindi are set to have another wet spell.
According to weathermen, rains coupled with strong winds and thunderstorms will lash twin cities early Sunday and later next week.
“More rains are on the way as an active westerly wave is likely to approach western parts of the country on Saturday night. It is likely to persist in upper and central parts of the country during the next few days,” a Met Office official told ‘The News’ on Saturday morning.
He said rain-thundershower associated with gusty winds was expected at scattered places in Islamabad; Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Sahiwal in upper Punjab; Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur in southern Punjab; Quetta, Zhob and Kalat in northern Balochistan; Malakand, Hazara, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Peshawar
and Mardan in Khyber-Pakh-tunkhwa; Federally Administered Tribal Areas; Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
