Brighto Paints, Dollar East register wins
KARACHI: Brighto Paints and Dollar East registered wins in the fifth Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup Twenty20 being played under floodlights here at the picturesque Hussain Lawai Stadium.
Brighto Paints whipped Rahman Foundation by 86 runs and Dollar East humbled Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) by nine wickets. Batting first, Brighto Paints were bowled out for 162 in 19.3 overs with Zeeshan Ali (56 off 40 balls), Zeeshan Nazir (50 off 35 balls) and Bilal Shah (29 off 13 balls) being the leading scorers. Rafay Safdar (4-19) and Ahmed Nadeem (2-23) had the bowling honours.
Rahman Foundation never recovered from a shaky start and were routed in 17.3 overs. The innings was rocked by Muhammad Ali Yousuf who captured four wickets for only nine runs.In the earlier match, Dollar East restricted CAA to 104 for nine off 20 overs with Fahhadis Bukhari (41 off 40 balls) doing the bulk of scoring.
The innings was contained by the spin trio of Saadat Munir (2-9), Muhammad Umar (2-20) and Azam Hussain (2-21).Dollar East were helped by openers Khurram and Adnan Raees, who scored 45 for the first wicket. Adnan departed after scoring 22 off 20 balls, but Khurram remained undefeated on 52 off 47 balls. Ramiz Aziz remained unconquered with 26 off 32 balls as Dollar East reached the target in the 17th over.
