KARACHI: The first of its kind in Pakistan, a day and night zoo, named ‘Dan Zoo’, of international standard has been inaugurated in the Bahria Town, Karachi. A large number of people including famous personalities belonging to the business, showbiz, sports and media attended the event. The Bahria Town COO Admiral (retd) Ahmad Hayat was the chief guest.
Special arrangements were made to make the event memorable. After cutting the inaugural ribbon, the Bahria Town COO said the Dan Zoo is a major addition to the Karachi’s recreation points. He said the community lifestyle and healthy recreation is the goal of Bahria Town. He said the establishment of Pakistan’s first day and night zoo would provide an opportunity to the residents of Bahria Town to enjoy the beautiful evenings of the coastal city. Hayat said a large number of local and exotic animals have been kept in the Dan zoo. They include the African lion, white lion, Bengal tiger, Cheetah, Asian black bear, various type of deer, crocodile, ostrich, peacocks and several types of ducks kept in the beautiful surroundings. Spread over 70 acres, Dan Zoo, has been divided into several large areas and each part has been assigned name of an animal. The visitors could also use ‘Wild on Wheels’ that employs golf carts to take the visitors to different parts of the zoo.
