Caretaker PM’s name to be announced within 48 hours
ISLAMABAD: The announcement of consensus caretaker prime minister has been delayed for two to three days, sources told The News. Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah was expected to make public the name (of the caretaker prime minister) but it was delayed due to the current political upheaval in the aftermath of ex-prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s statement about the Mumbai attacks. Another reason for the delay is that the government is busy in the process to get the Federal Budget 2018-2109 passed by the National Assembly. Sources said the name would be announced within next 48 hours, as Syed Khursheed Shah was in Karachi to attend the PPP meeting and the farmers’ protest over shortage of water in Sindh. He will be back in Islamabad Wednesday night. The prime
minister and opposition leader had discussed six names and both agreed on one name.
