PPP-W launches Jago Pakistan initiative
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party-Workers (PPP-W) Monday staged a token hunger strike in front of National Press Club (NPC) to launch movement for new social contract ‘Jago Pakistan’. “Our token hunger strike camp was a first step towards the new social contract with slogans of economic, social and political revolution to achieve justice for all,” said President PPP Workers Dr Safdar Abbassi while talking to newsmen Monday. Dr Safdar Abbassi, who formed a faction of the PPP after martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto, along with his spouse Naheed khan, said his party has launched the movement for new social contract with the state of Pakistan. He said the first point which was set for new social contract was to achieve justice for all. There are 14 points dealing with free and fair elections to responsibility of the state for welfare of its subjects.
