Man stabs wife to death in Lahore

LAHORE: A woman was stabbed to death by her husband in the Kahna area on Sunday. Victim Shazia Bibi hailed from Karachi and was married to the accused, Mubarak, two years back. On the day of the incident, Mubarak got infuriated after having an exchange of harsh words with her over a domestic issue and later allegedly stabbed and wounded her. She was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her wounds.

Police have removed the body to morgue and registered a murder case against the accused. Man dies: A 35-year-old man lost his life in a road accident in the Defence C area on Sunday.

The man identified as Ikram Subhani was on his way on a bike when his speeding vehicle dashed against a barrier kept along the road, as a result, he suffered fatal injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Heroin seized: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) intercepted a Canada-bound parcel containing heroin at Cargo Complex at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Sunday. ANF officials also arrested the alleged culprit, identified as Shamas Iqbal, who hailed from Pasroor. The accused had concealed the heroin in gloves and the parcel was being sent to Canada.

girl reunited: The Motorway Police, South Zon, reunited an eight-year-old deaf and dumb girl with her family. The girl identified as Maseera was spotted crying near Lahore Bypass. The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) officers took her into their custody and traced her family after hectic efforts. She was handed over to her father, Amir Khan. The NH&MP sector commander lauded the police officers.

PHP: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) claimed to have arrested 97 criminals, including 34 proclaimed offenders (POs).

PHP teams also seized 120 kg unhygienic beef, 1 Kalashnikov, 4 rifles, 19 pistols, 2 guns, 362 bullets, 212 litre liquor, 8,318 gram charas, 110 gram heroin from the possession of the arrested persons. Meanwhile, PHP team reunited three children named Muhammad Mahboob, Liaqat and Ahmed Hassan with their parents. The PHP rendered help to 2,171 road users.

protest: The protest demonstration by the visually-impaired persons at Kalma Chowk continued for a second day, suspending Metro Bus Service partially.

Demanding protection of their rights and provision of jobs according to the quota fixed by government, the visually-impaired persons are staging protest on the track of metro bus at Kalma Chowk. They have appealed to the chief minister to redress their grievances.
