Seeded players advance in Pak Circuit-I Squash
ISLAMABAD: Seeded men players moved into the second round of Pakistan Circuit-I Squash event at the Mushaf Ali Mir Complex Thursday.
In what turned out to be a tough opening round, Farhan Zaman had to struggle to beat young Abbas Zeb 8-11, 11-3, 11-5, 11-3. The match that lasted 30 minutes saw Abbas getting a good outing against experience Farhan before going down to the top seed.
Farhan Mehboob (Pak) also had to gather all his reserves to beat Syed Ali Bukhari (Pak). Both players played aggressive squash in a fast pace game that saw experienced Farhan ultimately winning 11-8, 11-6, 11-9.
In ladies event top seed Noorena Shams was outclassed by Noor Ul Ain Ejaz in straight set and within seven minutes.
Noorena who has been ranked in the WPSA ranking list could not justify her ranking as she was defeated 11-3, 11-3, 11-0 by Noorul Ain. Similarly the youngest player Amna Fayaz also defeated second seed of the event Anum Mustafa in five games. Amna won 11-4, 13-11, 11-7, 7-11,11-5.
