Seminar
LAHORE: Punjab University’s Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS) organised a seminar on “Nuclear Regulatory Framework and Oversight Process in Pakistan” in its auditorium.
According to a press release, former chairman Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority Dr Muhammad Anwar Habib was the keynote speaker while Director CSAS Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid, faculty members, MPhil/PhD scholars and students were present on the occasion.
Dr Muhammad Anwar Habib started his talk by giving an introduction of Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority and discussed why regulator mechanism was important for Pakistan. He also discussed about the importance of OGRA, NEPRA and PEMRA and their role in governance.
He emphasised on human development with special reference to capacity building, because regulation process was important for everyone’s safety and security.
