Peshawar lift KP U-23 Hockey trophy

ISLAMABAD: Peshawar edged out Bannu 3-2 on the penalty shoot-out to win the Under-23 KP Inter-Regional Hockey Tournament at Lala Ayub Stadium. Both teams showed brilliant stick-work but were unable to crack the ice in the scheduled time. However, on the penalty strokes, Peshawar won the final 3-2. Earlier, in the semifinals, Peshawar beat Swat 4-0 while Bannu edged out Mardan 1-0 on penalty shoot-out.
Director General KP Sports Board Junaid Khan was the guest of honour and distributed prizes among the winners. Also present during the final were Zahir Shah, president KP Hockey Association and Haji Hydatullah secretary KP Hockey Association.
