Empty promises
All promises that are made by political parties are forgotten as soon as the elections are over. We are forced to think of the use of this vigorous exercise that is conducted every five years. The same faces are elected again and again. For the 2018 elections, I have decided to thoroughly check the ballot paper for a ‘none of the above’ option. This is because I don’t consider any person of any party worthy of my vote.
We have been waiting for a change in the prevailing system of democracy in the country but the change is stuck somewhere. In my opinion, as far as the resolution of the people’s problems is concerned, the chief justice of Pakistan has been doing much more than all the political parties combined – from Torkham to Gwadar.
