KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Sindh on the recommendations of the Zonal Board has initiated inquiries against the former officials of PSO and airlines.
The spokesman for the FIA Sindh said an inquiry against the then management of PSO including Mian Muhammad Farid (ex-MD), H A Zuberi (Ex-Marketing Manager-Aviation), J N W Ansari (Ex MD) and the then GM Special Business (PSO), A R Mithani (Ex GM Finance PSO) and Tauqeer Sultan Awan (Chairman and CEO) Hajvairy Airline has been initiated against them.
The management of PSO and Chairman and CEO of Hajvairy Airline in collusion and connivance of each other, allegedly incurred losses to the tune of Rs81.6 million, to the national exchequer by executing faulty agreements against the supply of aviation fuel and acted beyond the terms of agreements which resulted into default in the payment of dues to the PSO.
An inquiry has also been initiated against ex MD PIA, Muhammad Aijaz Haroon, for allegedly committing massive corruption, involvement in money laundering and accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income abroad. Further investigations are underway.
